Our firm is certified by the Veterans Administration as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. We have been in business since 1989. Sands Springs Development Corp is a highly capable and experienced Transportation Logistics and Supply Chain Management organization.

The POC for all logistics and procurement issues is Marcus McCance, a retired Navy Captain with 38 years of military experience and an extensive background in Logistics/Transportation Management, Federal Procurement and Supply Chain Management (SCM). Additionally we work with a wide range of businesses involved in freight forwarding (whether air, sea or surface) to domestic and international couriers. Mr. McCance has extensive training within the Department of Defense in the Transportation Management Industry. He has numerous Navy Officer Billet Classifications/Certifications in the Transportation Management Industry. We also work with clients providing ancillary and support services in the Logistics business sector. Our experience in these sectors ensures that we fully understand the challenges facing local and global logistics organizations. Our in-depth understanding of logistical issues, combined with our technical experience, allows us to deliver specific transport and logistics solutions across a broad spectrum of tactical challenges.

We have extensive logistics experience with numerous Commercial Organizations throughout Florida in addition to the Department of Defense organizations including the Department of the Navy, Army and Air Force.

• Numerous certifications (NOBC) with Department of Defense designating the owner of SSDC as Transportation/Logistics experts.
• Direct experience with U.S. Navy within the Naval Air and Surface communities. Extensive experience with Naval Construction Forces, and Naval Logistics units and major Supply Chain Management issues confronting the Department of Defense.
• Direct support of 3rd Army in the CENTCOM AOR during OIF/OEF providing logistical support in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan.
• Contract management monitoring ensuring optimal performance. Additionally providing analysis and consultation ensuring cost minimization and efficient resources allocation throughout the performance period.
• The owners of SSDC completed N4 ACOS duties with COMUSNAVCENT. Directed all logistical support to Fifty Fleet support 2005 Bright Star. Provided initial planning for 5th Fleet NEO from Beirut, Lebanon to Cyprus. Upon commencement coordinated 5th Fleet Activities with 6th Fleet forces until completion of the evacuation of all U.S. citizens. Lead logistician on all major SCM issues for 5th Fleet Exercises in Egypt.
• Extensive support to NATO RHQ,s Izmir, Turkey, & Madrid, Spain coordinating all SCM responsibilities & planning of major exercises. Provided LNO support for the 5th Fleet NEO from Beirut, Lebanon to Cyprus.
• Diversified experience in Logistics, construction planning, scheduling and quality control management for projects in South America. Developed logistics contacts throughout Central and South America.
• Personnel attached to U.S. Naval Construction Forces supporting Multi National and Joint duties with US Embassy, Tallin, Estonia in conjunction with Project for Peace. Coordinated with U.S. Embassy with regards to all supply chain management in for Navy Construction Forces and Marine Forces support the Estonian Defense Force.
• Extensive experience with Naval Construction Forces (Seabees) in the full deployment and support of remotely located forces from platoon to regimental size organizations. Intimately familiar with Seabee deployment, leadership, SCM and communications. One of the owners of Sand Springs was the first Supply Officer to obtain designation as a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer.
• Extensive support for ERP implementation within DOD incorporating performance based logistics techniques ensuring resources are effectively utilized and costs minimized. Sands Springs currently has integrated ERP software and has extensive knowledge of its applications.
• Air Logistic Hub expertise in both Air Cargo Terminals and in remote sites. Coordinated communications, transportation, distribution and accountability from Air Distribution Network to Ground Network terminating at Base Camp for Naval Construction Forces.
